Been Busy Busy Busy but I'm Coming Back!

Hey Everyone! It's been a while since I have posted it's not because I didn't want to I promise that. A lot has been going on around here. With the seasons changing my kids have been taking turns having strept throat. Each week for the past month a different one has had. This has been my first sick free week. I guess I spoke to soon about that because this morning when I woke my son Gabe announces his throat is sore again. Maybe I won't get a sick free week!

The CDC offers great advice on strep and all other sicknesses your family may be experiencing with all the weather changes. Here's their link I'm sure you will find helpful advice there!
http://www.cdc.gov/Features/StrepThroat/

On top of sick babies I have been on a massive mission house hunting. That is no easy task. Anyone planning to do that better be prepared. Between all of the listed properties online that actually are off the market and the real estate companies that never call you back it can take forever. I luckily found a cute townhouse right around the corner from my apartments so Gabe can finish his school year in the same school.

New place!

I have been shopping for furniture and accessories at IKEA one of my favorite stores to go to! But If you want to miss the crowds don't go on the weekend. It's like black Friday and a lot of shoppers are rude. Ikea has a lot of great sales. Also, if you haven't signed up for it yet they have a Family rewards card that saves you money and gives you free Hot Coffee or Hot Tea Every time you visit their restaurant. I must warn you that most of the pieces you buy there you do have to piece together yourself but it is definitely worth it. IKEA has a very family friendly atmosphere with courtesy diapers in the family restrooms and a play land for the kiddos while you shop. I also love that they have a restaurant and bistro. No leaving to find place to eat when your kids start nagging about being hungry! Just roll them to the to the bistro for concession type foods with great deals or head to the restaurant for a more dine in experience.

Here's the link for their site to discover more great things about IKEA!

So between sicknesses and house hunting we took a well needed vacation! We went down to Jekyll Island, GA. One of Georgia's most beautiful, natural places to visit. If you are ever looking for a great laid back vacation full of nature and plenty of relaxing you have to check it out. We stayed for 5 nights and six days and a great affordable place to stay is at the Days Inn. It offers beach views, fire pit, 2 pools, a kiddy pool & hot tub, grill,  great little free deluxe continental & on site bike rentals. While on our stay we rode bikes 10+ miles around the island (a must if you visit). We played putt-putt, If you like golf they have courses for that too! Spent countless hours walking the beach and finding natural treasures. We fished off piers, played in parks and swam for hours in the pool and ocean. We even used the fire pit to roast marshmallows and hot dogs one night. We were building memories with the kids and this is one of the best places to do it.

The View from our hotel Door!

I mentioned that it is pretty natural. They have very limited stores and buildings. It's so quiet and peaceful. Wildlife is very abundant, deer and raccoon are everywhere. In the parks squirrels come around in hoards and have such cute personalities. We also seen a small shark feeding off the shoreline and pods of dolphins on South beach. We like to visit around the Fall because there are less people and low prices.

Beautiful scenery in Jekyll Island, GA!

On our journey we planned to visit a few Nationals parks along the way. Gabe has been learning a lot about James Oglethorpe and Native Americans so we decided to visit places to give him history lessons. however the government shutdown prevented a few of our stops. So makes sure when you are traveling that you call any places you have on your list to make sure they are open for certain season ad their open hours are correct. Or maybe there will be another government shutdown that crosses your path!

Government Shutdown prevented us from letting Gabe see where history was made!

On our way home we stopped in Savannah another lovely gem in Georgia! (This is why I could care less to vacation outside of Georgia there is so much to discover!) The town is littered in parks and architecture. Best to walk everywhere you go. We had lunch at Paula Deen's restaurant The Lady & Sons. Great southern home made taste cuisine. The taste felt just like being at home around the dinner table when I was a kid. (For best results call and make an appointment if you are planning to go. It can be packed on certain days and at certain hours.)

Forsyth Park In Savannah, GA

While we were in Savannah they were filming the Sponge Bob 2 movie so the kiddos had the chance to see some of the set of the movie.  We headed to the riverfront and the kids were amazed at all of the big cargo ships bringing in goods from other countries. We met a local artist painting in front of the river and bought a couple of pictures from him. After that we finished our trip walking from park to park looking at all of the beautiful scenery and learning a lot of Georgia's history.

Halloween TruMoo Milk & BzzAgent #GotItFree

Hey Everyone! So in my last post I told you all about BzzAgent and how I am now a BzzAgent. For those who missed that post BzzAgent is a Social Media Company. You can sign up, take surveys  and they will match you with campaigns. In a campaign you will receive free products to try out. Once you try them out you have a to do list and send in your reviews on the products. Easy as that.

My latest campaign is Halloween TruMoo Milk. BzzAgent sent me a free coupon for a gallon of milk, about 10 more 75 cent off coupons for sharing and 2 recipes using TruMoo Milk. TruMoo has Limited Edition Vanilla Milk in Halloween Orange and Chocolate milk. I picked up both flavors today and my kids are loving it. I'm love giving my kids TruMoo as a healthier option than cokes and juices loaded with sugar. You might say well flavored milk has sugar. It does but TruMoo contains  35% less sugar than other leading brands of chocolate milk. I find comfort in knowing that TruMoo is 1% Lowfat Milk ,it has vitamins A & D and they use no growth hormones or high fructose corn syrup.

My attempt with the Spooky Smoothie recipe using
TruMoo Limited Edition Vanilla Milk In Halloween Orange!
TruMoo Limited Edition Lowfat Vanilla Milk In Halloween Orange is a fun treat for the kiddos. My 3 love the color and the flavor. I like that you can taste the vanilla instead of loads of sugar like a lot of flavored milk I have tried. I always have to add regular milk to my flavored milks because of the high sugar taste. With TruMoo you don't have to do that. It is smooth & creamy. It taste to me like a vanilla milkshake. So Yummy!

My Attempt at the Monster Mash Mudslide using
 TruMoo Lowfat Chocolate Milk!
TruMoo Lowfat Chocolate Milk is such a yummy drink for the family. My kids are always asking for seconds. It's great hot or cold. Not all sugary and you can taste just the right amount of chocolate. It also makes an awesome milkshake. Add vanilla ice cream and TruMoo Lowfat Chocolate Milk in a cup and stir until smooth and creamy, top it off with whipped cream and there you have a great dessert.

Your chance to win the Goosebumps Haunted Hollywood Vaction

BzzAgent : There Are Bees In My Mailbox???

What I found in my mailbox!

Good Day Everyone! I have something awesome to share with you all!

I checked my mailbox yesterday and to my surprise I had a big box inside, it had bumble bees on the tape it as sealed with. Finally, what I have been waiting for! My very first BzzAgent Campaign, The Quaker Back to School Campaign.

You are probably asking what is she talking about. Well I'm here to tell you. BzzAgent is a great website, it's a social media marketing company. If you are big with social media or you get excited about trying new brands and like recommending them to friends and family this is the site for you. You take surveys and BzzAgent finds campaigns that they believe are right for you. They will give you an option to join a campaign for different brands. If you accept they will send you free items or discounts from the brands. When you get the products all you do is test them out and give your honest opinions about them and spread the word. You also get a to do list. When you complete them all you get a higher BzzAgent score which means you are much more likely to receive more campaigns. Me myself, I'm a stay at home mom, so I have extra time on my hands. It's really fun to do and who doesn't like freebies!

This is what it looked like when I opened it!

Well back to that special box with bees...I got into my house and was quick to open it up to see what was inside. Inside I found a box of 14.5oz box of Quaker Oatmeal Squares cereal,  7 pack Quaker Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies, Quaker Real Medleys Cherry Pistachio Multi Grain Fruit and Nut bar, Quaker Popped Rice Snacks in cheddar cheese flavor and 14 $1 off coupons for different Quaker products for myself and to share. I received all this free just for being a BzzAgent! Yes I said Free! I would have to say that's pretty cool. I can truly say I have never been so happy to find bees in my mailbox.

All these Quaker Goodies for free!

Quaker is pretty much known for oatmeal. That is the first thing I think about when I hear the brand. I grew up eating it for breakfast. Who knew they had so many more products?

I know you are all pretty curious to know what I think of them, so I will be giving you all my true and honest opinions as my family and I test them out!

Make sure to check out BzzAgent, here's the link to their site:

Shark Week Started August 4 !!!!

Shark at the GA Aquarium

It's that time of the year again! It's time for Shark Week on The Discovery channel! They are celebrating 26 years August 4! Logan & myself love watching this every year. Logan loves anything in the ocean! I find Shark Week to be a great learning experience for him. I don't recommend this for all children my oldest is 7 and will not watch it because it scares him. If I thought this for Logan I wouldn't allow him to watch it. When I was younger I always watched wildlife specials and this is Logan's wildlife special.
Logan's Excited for Shark Week!

For anyone who has never seen or heard of Shark Week, it is a week long event on the Discovery Channel with shows featuring sharks! Even includes shark attacks and stories. They have showcases of great white breaching which is such an amazing sight.

I myself love the Great White Shark. They actually have places that offer Great White Diving experiences where you can get in a cage and go under water to see them feed or for those who want to comfort of a boat you can be a top side observer! I really hope one day in my future I get to experiences this.

Great White Adventures offers this at great prices!

The Mary Kay Look!

Hey y'all! I just got my Mary Kay Glamour Looks VoxBox  from Influenster, I've been telling you all about. I checked my mailbox on Tuesday and to my and to my surprise there was a cute pink and black box with the words Mary Kay on it. I got into my car and opened it up. Inside was the following products, Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in I love Black, Lash Primer, Cream Eye Color in Violet Storm, True Dimensions Lip Stick in Pink Cherie and a cream eye color/concealer brush.

These are my main makeup items in my vanity. As you know I live in the south, so I mainly just worry with my eyes and lips. Foundation is a sometimes items because it all just sweats off when I walk out the door. I was really excited to receive these particular ones. I have been using all of my Mary Kay Make up from the day I got my voxbox and here is my findings.

Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in I Love Black  $15.00

Lash Love Lengthening Mascara is my absolute favorite item in the box! It does exactly what it says, it lengthens! Lash love lengthens and separates your lashes leaving you with a very natural look. I experienced no clumping or caking. It went on super easy with the wand which is curved to help you achieve curled lashes. Lash Love is a very lightweight mascara and it didn't leave me feelings as if I put glue on my lashes as with other brands I have used. I totally recommend using Lash Love if you want length without the heavy goop feeling. I will be replacing my regular mascara with Lash Love!

Mary Kay Lash Primer $15.00

I have used Lash love Mascara with the Lash Primer and also without. When I applied Lash Primer it went on very easily without a messy feeling. Lash Primer was also very lightweight. My honest opinion on the Lash Primer is I really couldn't tell a difference when I used it.

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color In Violet Storm$22.00

I really liked this a lot. it goes on very smooth. It's a creamy, silky texture. You don't have to use a lot to achieve the color on your eyes. Cream Eye Color is so much better than using a powder eye shadow because it didn't dust onto your face and shirt. The color Violet Storm is a good color for a night or day look. I myself have green eyes and Violet Storm really made my eyes stand out!

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color / Concealer Brush    $10.00

I like that the bristles were not coarse, it was very soft. The brush really made applying the cream eye color easy. the brush wasn't too big and made the color go on very softly and smooth. Very worth the price!

Mary Kay True Dimensions Lip Stick in Pink Cherie $18.00

I really love this lip stick. The color Pink Cherie is good if you are looking for a natural look or if you want color. It's not too overly dramatic or way to bright. it went on smoothly and moisturized my lips as I wore it.  It was a very pretty pink. I like to top it off with clear lip gloss. It really makes the color POP!

Well guys I am really happy with My Mary Kay products and will definitely be purchasing more in the near future. Don't just take my word for it! You can always check out their website and see all the products they offer. Mary Kay has so many options for all skin tones and types. It definitely is not your grandmother's make up as a lot of people I have heard think!

Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about the I have received.

Wedding Tips I Wish Someone Told Me!

Hey Y'all! Finally I survived the wedding! Sam and I made it official June 8th.

Planning a wedding is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy! I have never felt so stressed out in all of my life.

At The Ceremony!
I was a complete emotional wreck the last week before my wedding. I ended up shopping for I was in need of literally an hour and a half before my vows. In the end it didn't happen in the field I had planned it to be in and at least 80% of everything I planned to do didn't happen. My wedding was delayed and hour and I didn't have time to cook a lot of the food I bought.

D.I.Y idea was the worst mistake ever! My sister Lori and I stayed up pasted 1 AM the night of my wedding still making decorations. Bought out every store in a 20 mile radius of materials, which still wasn't enough! We didn't have time to turn the flower into bouquets and boutonnieres. We ladies ended up with just handfuls of flowers. My bouquet was a quick ambush of my grandmother's Hydrangea bush. (I always wanted a blue Hydrangea bouquet!) Thanks to my niece Savannah who quickly got them for me! The men didn't even end up with a boutonniere at all!

Outdoors is a whole 'nother ball field. Let me tell you! For anyone who wants this idea, please make sure you really think it through. Pay attention to every detail.

If you do decide to have an outdoor wedding make sure it's before the months of sweltering hot humid weather. Walking down the aisle I felt as though waterfalls were pouring down my legs. Was I peeing myself, you might ask? No! I was sweating! Pretty gross! My slip was sticking to my legs it was pretty uncomfortable. Also, in pictures when you are this hot they start looking as miserable as they feel!
Bridesmaid In Middle
Pictures I was talking about....
Don't they look hot!

There is an issue to with rain. It didn't rain on my wedding day only the day before. Rain had made the ground so squishy and every time I picked up my feet, my whole heel sank deep into the ground. Not so elegant looking walking down the aisle trying not to be notice as you yank your sinking feet out of the ground!

Pest! These little critters don't take a break just because you are getting married. Mosquitoes were attacking everyone. I suppose we could have sprayed ourselves down with repellent. Who really wants that smell as wedding perfume? There were also ants, horrible fire ants! By the end of the night my feet were covered with pus filled blisters from evil ants! Last critters you have are flies! Flies smell just one whiff of food and they invite all their family and friends to your reception, even though you didn't send an invite! Nothing is worse than people having to shew flies off of their food.

Your location! Where ever you have it make sure you remember that you need power for music, light or any other electronics. This is the whole reason I didn't have my wedding in the field I had prepared. We wouldn't have had any music for our ceremony because we didn't have enough extension cords to reach out there. Our DJ couldn't set up without power. In this case you can rent a generator (which I think would be pretty loud when running or a lot of extension cords ( which can get pretty tacky).

Now don't forget traditions! At my wedding not to many traditions happened. The removal and tossing of the garter. I  guess it's a good thing this didn't go on. Remember how I said I was sweating, when I took it off it was drenched! Who would want to catch that?

The tossing of the bouquet! No future brides at my wedding! If I would have thrown that a lot of girls would be planning their wedding (Remember I didn't have time to tie together my bouquet). My bouquet would have rain down in all directions!

No seeing the bride before the wedding! Sam and I woke up together and see each other most of the morning. Never did he see me in my dress, not until I walked down the aisle.

Car decorations! No just married signs on my car. it just didn't happen.

Source: someecards.com
The e-card I am talking about.

Something blue! If you are a Pinterest user, I know you have seen the e-card that says, "I am not sure if a handful of Xanax counts as your something blue." I  must say at my wedding it did! I'm not the pill popper type of person, but I do have a severe case of social anxiety. The thought of walking down the aisle and talking in front of a crowd really terrifies me and I start having panic attacks. I get really shaky, hot, sweaty and jumble my words. I literally worried weeks about being in front of people. I refused to have that issue on my special day, so I took half of a Xanax! It mellowed me out enough to get me down the aisle and get out my vows! I had my borrowed , my sister's bracelet, I had my new, earrings, necklace and shoes. Now that I think about it I didn't have something old and my blue was a Xanax!

So there you have it. Somethings I wish I would have been told ahead of time. If you are planning a wedding I sure hope this helps. Remember to not let the stress of planning your wedding take over what is suppose to be one of the most important days in your life! When stress starts taking over please take time for yourself and remove yourself from the situation that is causing the stress.

Sam and I did have a beautiful wedding ceremony, besides all of the unplanned mishaps. Remember it doesn't matter where you get married. It doesn't matter if nothing goes as planned. Marriage isn't about spending tons of money, having the best of everything and things being perfect for just one short day. Marriage is only about you and the person you are choosing to share the rest of your life with. Making a commitment  to each other to love, honor and to be with only that person for better or worse for life. The ceremony is where you confess your love for each other and become one. It should be a happy occasion  whether you choose to do it at the courts or plan a huge wedding. Don't forget it's just one day, it's not worth getting all worked up and frustrated about it. Just let the cards fall where they may and in the end all that matters is the two of you and the journey that is about to begin!

Feeding Each Other Cake!
I forgot to bring a different outfit so I had to borrow a Bridesmaid Dress!
Once again I apologize for my absence. I ended up sick for a week following my wedding with flu like symptoms. I was also so exhausted mentally and physically from all of the things in life added to planning for the wedding. I am just now starting to recover and feel back to normal. I'm finally back to cooking real meals for my family again! So it's not just my blog I have slipped with.

The Last Game of The Season!

This video is what Gabe watches before baseball to get ready to play.
It gets him in the zone!

Hey Everyone! We are about to head of to Gabe's last game of the season. We always spend our morning before games watching Chipper Jones YouTube videos. It really gets him in the mood to play! This particular one is his favorite! Gabe says he plays like he is at Turner Field and already in the Big Leagues when he is on that little diamond at our local park. We know it's little league and we are not the crazy parents who take these games too seriously. Watching these videos do make him want to play like a pro though.

My Gabe loves baseball and we love the game too. It is something that brings my family close together. This is the first year he has got to play, last year we missed the deadline. I will really miss going to practice and going to the games! When you join something like this you never imagine you will meet some of the coolest moms. I have meet some great moms and I think we have had just as much fun on the sidelines as the kids!

Well I gotta get going. I do suggest checking out a local team of any sport your child loves. It isn't just a great experience for the children it's great for parents too! Especially if you are a Stay at Home parent!I hope you all enjoy your day!

Influenster!

Hey my lovelies! I have just discovered a great site! It's called Influenster! This site let's you have a voice in the everyday products that you use. You get to grade and write reviews about all the products you love and the ones you are not to fond of! They don't just want your good feedback, they also want the bad. If you are anything like me you want to hear real opinions from real people on products before you buy them.

On Influenster you post your true feelings and experiences with the products. Tell about the pros and cons and also give your own tips.

I have become a little addicted to Influenster! You get a score from 0-100. The higher the score the better you are doing. You have a lot of fun little tasks to do. When you complete the task you earn badges ( kinda like Girl Scouts). It's a lot of fun! I am always trying to get a higher score!

If you are really good at this you might even get a Vox Box! Now a Vox Box is not a guarantee but even having the chance to receive one seems pretty awesome to me! A Vox Box is kinda like a treasure box full of goodies you sample and then you review on your social media about.

Description of a Vox Box from the Influenster Website:

What's a VoxBox?

It's a reward you might get for being a great Influenster. Too vague? OK fine, it's a box filled to the brim with the hottest products that interest you. Paying attention now?
Here's how it works: Influensters are selected for FREE themed product shipments based on the Expert Badges they have unlocked and based on individual demographics. This ensures members receive products that match their interests.
Members with high scores -- within the specific badge we are targeting at the time -- are prioritized, which is all the more reason to get your Influenster and Expert Badge scores high.

You guys Influenster is a free site to join you will have to wait for the invite after you sign up. It took me all of 30 minutes to receive after I did sign up. If you are a blogger or very into social media you have the power to  be an influence. You also get to let lots of other find out about great products! So what are you waiting for go check it out!

Happy Memorial Day!!!

My girl wishin' you all a fun and safe Memorial day!

Happy Memorial Day! Today is a day where we remember all soldiers who have died while serving. These soldiers sacrificed their lives to keep our country safe. I have never known any soldiers who have died in battle. Both of my grandfathers were in WWII and escaped with a few bullet wounds but they made it back home.  To everyone who have lost friends and loved ones my prayers are with you all.

Memorial Day is the start of Summer (not officially). Kids just getting out of school, pools opening, and the scent of neighbors bbq grills being lit.

Every year my family has always got together for a great bbq. We actually had ours yesterday, so today I have nothing but cleaning and later, shopping to do!

I hope all of you get to enjoy a day of grillin', grubbin' fishin' and swimming today. Pick up some sparklers for the kiddos and set off some fireworks! Have an awesome relaxin' day. Remember to stay safe and no drinkin' and drivin'.

At 3:00pm it's National Moment of Remembrance. Please take 1 minute out wherever you are, for a moment of silence for all our fallen heroes and their families!
